There’s a battle going on between the footballers and the fiancées in downtown Nashville. This year, the NFL decided to hold its annual draft in Music City and thousands of dedicated fans trekked there to participate in draft-related festivities—and to indulge in some of the city’s famous revelry.
Only, Nashville (sometimes referred to as "Bach-ville") has famously become a hot spot for bachelorette parties, and many brides-to-be feel the draft attendees are intruding on their turf.
“We come here to listen to country music, not hang out with football boys,” one bride named Cara told FOX17.
“I’ll tell you who’s going to pay for this. My husband. No football next season. No Super Bowl. Because my friend only gets married once, draft happens every year,” her bridesmaid, Cyndi, told the station.

According to The Tennessean, officials estimate that on Thursday more than 100,000 people were packed into just a few blocks near the Tennessee Titans stadium, where the draft is being held. Around 200,000 people are expected to attend draft-related events around town this weekend.
According to FOX17, the influx of people has caused pedal taverns to be shooed off of Broadway, Nashville’s main party block, and brides are being forced to alter their plans because of street closures downtown.
"Only we would accidentally plan my bachelorette party on the same weekend/location as the NFL draft," one bride writes on Twitter.
Let’s not forget there was another very important event going on in Nashville Thursday and Friday. Taylor Swift revealed her new song and music video "ME!" featuring artist Brendon Urie to ABC News’ Robin Roberts. She also surprised fans by posing in front of a butterfly mural she had commissioned in The Gulch neighborhood by Denver artist Kelsey Montague.
All in all it’s been a busy few days for Nashville, and the weekend is only just getting started. The turf war wages on.
